Marbella is a natural choice for an investment property or a holiday home. A melting pot of cultures and only a short drive away from Malaga airport, the city is just as well-connected as it is beautiful. Those in the know understand the different areas the resort has to offer.

Here is our guide to the areas of Marbella.

La Zagaleta

La Zagaleta is arguably Marbella’s most prestigious enclave, with around 900 hectares in total, home to some 250 uber-luxury properties of many nationalities. The area itself is fully private and protected 24 hours a day.

Sierra Blanca

Sierra Blanca is a gated community, elevated some 300m above sea level above Marbella, with views of the Sierra Blanca Mountain range behind it.  Home to peaceful, private villas and mansions yet only a short drive into town or The Golden Mile, the urbanisation is perfect for those seeking the best of both worlds.

The Golden Mile

A strip on the outskirts of Marbella hosting two of the city’s most prestigious hotels; The Marbella Club Hotel and The Puente Romano. Along this stretch, you will find numerous villas and apartments, restaurants and bars, and a sandy beach. A highly sought-after and desirable area, with luxury accommodations and plenty of life.

Puerto Banus

The famous port in Marbella, a mecca for the wealthy since its construction in 1970. The impressive Marina receives some 5 million visitors annually and the marina hosts a number of superyachts.  The port is home to high fashion stores restaurants and bars.

Nueva Andalucia

Above Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia is also known as the golf valley. This area has lush greens and stunning views, with access to several of the region’s golf courses. Nueva Andalucia is a fantastic area for schools, shops, and services, as well as being very close to Puerto Banus and The Golden Mile.

Nagüeles

Nagüeles is a small leafy area behind Marbella and home to the annual Starlite Festival in its Quarry. This is a peaceful and tranquil location where luxury villas blend into the pretty streets with ease.

Benahavis

The town of Benahavis has seen a rise in popularity over the past 10 years, just to the west of Marbella. This is a pretty mountain village, with stunning homes and quaint restaurants and bars.
